DOES YOUR BUSINESS NEED EMERGENCY WARDEN TRAINING?

Work Health and Safety legislation does not explicitly refer to fire wardens; however, health and safety law does include a requirement to manage risks to health and safety, including risks from fire.

Under the Australian Standard AS 3745-2010 Planning for emergencies in facilities, there is a requirement for an emergency control organization to be established, which means the business should have a warden or team of wardens appointed.

It is recommended that your fire wardens are trained and take refresher courses every 12 months in accordance with the Australian Standard to remain up-to-date with all statutory and regulatory changes.
