This course provides the skills and knowledge required to work safely in the vicinity of live electrical apparatus as a non-electrical worker.
You will cover:
- relevant legislation, regulations, standards, codes of practice and organisational workplace requirements
- hazard, risk assessment and risk control requirements
- types and application of PPE
- safe use of plant, tools and equipment, including the safe approach distance
- application, purpose and types of work permits
- procedures for responding to an unplanned event or incident
- safety observer
- basic electrical principles and electricity networks
- completing relevant work records, reports and documentation
- terminology related to working safely in the vicinity of live electrical apparatus
Upon successful completion of assessment task(s) students will be awarded a Statement of Attainment for unit: UETDREL006 Work safely in the vicinity of live electrical apparatus as a non-electrical worker
